Star Association School Preparation Program

This program is available to children attending St Anthony’s Supported Inclusion Program and will be carried out in the centre. The School Preparation Program is based on research identifying the most important skills for successful transition to school. The program will focus on school survival skills including attending to task, following directions, self-help skills and social skills. Some early academic skills will also be incorporated into the program.

Cost:  $770 for a 10 week program.

School Transition Program

This program is staffed by highly qualified early childhood special educators and is available to children attending St Anthony’s Supported        Inclusion Program. The School transition program will support families and their child during the transition to school period.

Families will be offered support through information on school options, liaising with appropriate school personnel, and preparing their child for school. The child will be supported through supervised school orientation visits and school preparation. School staff will be supported through the provision of information relating to the child’s skills and needs, successful strategies for teaching the child and managing his/her behaviour, and links to useful resources.

Cost: $1650 (depending on the number of sessions).
