Family Support Services

The Family Support Service provides assistance to families accessing any of St Anthony’s Services.

Families raising a child with a disability often face an array of challenges and responsibilities in addition to those experienced by other families. Parents, grandparents and siblings are often left feeling overwhelmed, isolated and exhausted. The Family Support Service provides assistance to families to help them manage those pressures and enhance the wellbeing and functioning of individuals and the family unit as a whole.

Support is provided by the Family Support Worker to families individually to help them address their specific needs. Activities are also organised which provide families with a chance to come together and support each other. These include an annual Mothers’ Weekend Away, siblings groups, parent groups and family events.
