Migrant Services - Supported Playgroups
Playgroups operate from a variety of settings across Sydney including; schools, community centres and hired private facilities. A number of our playgroups are run in partnership with other agencies who also work with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD).
St Anthony’s playgroups are targeted at parents and carers of children aged 0-5years from non English speaking backgrounds.
Playgroups offer children the following opportunities:
- Participate in new experiences
- Develop and increase their social skills
- Learn sharing, co-operation and simple routines
- Interact with adults and children in a safe environment
- Prepare for primary school
Benefits for adults include:
- Meet other local families and develop new friendships
- Share experiences and ideas
- Play with their children and nurture a spirit of co-operation
The children, parents and support workers all have a great time participating in the activities. Activities include morning / afternoon tea, craft, dancing, music, story time and of course lots of FUN!
