Flexible Respite Services

St Anthony’s Flexible Respite Service offers a range of supports to families that care for a child with a developmental disability aged between 0 and 18 years. Caring for an individual with a developmental or intellectual disability can present a number of challenges. Respite offers a range of options to assist families with caring for their child. As well as providing a well deserved break for family members, respite also offers the child with a disability with the opportunity to have fun engaging in play and recreational activities with a trained support worker.

Our flexible approach to families enables respite to be tailored to the needs of each individual family within our service. Families can access respite individually either within their home or in the community, or with peers through group activities, centre based respite and vacation care.

To be eligible for services the family must live in the Inner West region of Sydney. Referrals are received through a centralised waiting list known as TAB 2. Priority is given to families with the greatest unmet need. This may include families with few existing services and limited family support, those living in disadvantaged circumstances or whom are at risk of abuse or neglect.
