We discussed how we can incorporate elements from nature, such as leaves, flowers, rocks, and sand, into artworks. It's a practice that Indigenous Australians have been embracing for many years.

To facilitate their creativity, we provided flower petals, leaves, stones, tree bark, and wooden tree trunk discs.

The excitement and imaginative ideas were flowing! This experience served as a fantastic way to explore artworks using natural resources and loose parts, demonstrating that we can FIND and CREATE art in the most unexpected places!

With this year’s National Reconciliation Week theme being, Be a Voice for Generations, all Australians are urged to use their power, their words and their actions to create a better, more just Australia for all of us, and who wouldn't want that??

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for a National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

Today, we had a close look at Aboriginal hand cave paintings before giving it a go ourselves!

Engaging in art from different cultures is a great way for children to learn through a hands on experience about diversity and respect. As children explore Aboriginal cave art, they learn about Aboriginal culture and their way of being.
